Who we are

The krakenboats.com website is operated by Les Bateaux Kraken inc. (“Kraken Boats”, “we”). This policy explains what personal information we collect on this site, why, how we protect it and what your rights are, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Information we collect

We only collect the information you voluntarily send us through the request form:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your phone number (optional);
• your region or province;
• your profile (individual, organization or dealer);
• the model you are interested in, the number of boats and your message.

The site uses no tracking cookies, no visitor analytics and no targeted advertising.

Why we use it

Your information is used only to:

• answer your request and prepare a quote;
• refer you to the dealer in your region;
• follow up on your order, if applicable.

We do not sell or rent your information. We may forward your request to the dealer in your region, only to follow up on it.

Consent

By sending the form, you consent to our use of your information for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.

Hosting and service providers

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., and requests sent through the form are stored on its servers, located in the United States. Your information may therefore be communicated outside Quebec. Before doing so, we assessed that this provider offers adequate protection.

To display the site, your browser also connects to the following technical services, which may receive your IP address:

• Google Fonts (typefaces);
• MapTiler and OpenStreetMap (background of the points-of-sale map);
• Cloudflare cdnjs (map library).

These services receive no information from the form.

Geolocation

The “Closest to me” button uses your device's location, only if you allow it. The calculation is done in your browser: your location is never sent to us and is not stored.

Retention

We keep your requests for 3 years after our last exchange, then delete them. If your request leads to a purchase, sales records are kept for the periods required by tax laws.

Security

Access to requests is limited to the people who need it to answer them. The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Your rights

At any time, you may:

• request access to the information we hold about you;
• request its correction;
• withdraw your consent or request its deletion.

We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
